New Emergency Technology in New York

January 18, 2007

Coming out of Information Week today is a report that New York City will allow for 911 and 311 operators to receive cell phone videos and photos from individuals in the city. This information will help with crime fighting and prevention and help dispatchers determine which resources are necessary to handle a situation.

Perhaps Philadelphia should follow NYC’s lead and consider implementing similar technology here.
